Black for Black Keys

Saturday night I went to the Global Festival to see the Black Keys! I love love love them and was super pumped to see them live on the great lawn at Central Park (thanks Ashwin!). They rocked! The Global Festival was a charity concert to raise awareness around a handful of causes.

Earlier in the day I made a routine stop at Rag and Bone in Soho and stumbled upon an amazing leather jacket...totally rocker and had removable sleeves to turn into a leather vest. Love at first sight. Perfect to wear to the concert with a black Helmut Lang tee, Plum-Colored Rag and Bone jeans, Celine flats, and a Banana Republic hat (not to mention a good dose of kohl eyeliner for additional concert feel).

Eat. Run. Sleep. Repeat.

It's that time season for the NYC Marathon (or any fall marathon). Runners come out of the woodwork and the West Side Highway turns into a free-for-all. I have to say that although my social life has taken a nose dive, I spend most nights in compression socks, and my foam rollar has become a torture device, I just LOVE the feeling of getting ready for a challenge. This year I'm beyond thrilled because I'm on the Polycystic Kidney Foundation team! This charity is so special to me and I've been wanting to raise money for them in a race for a few years. I got lucky this year when a few weeks ago a spot opened up.

What does this mean? ...for starters I'll be asking everyone I've ever met, dated, are related to, went to school with, drank at a bar with, worked with/for, or just know somehow for a donation to my fundraising page! Please donate!! It's for a GREAT cause. My goal is $3,000...and when I say goal, I mean I have to raise that amount or I'm not running the marathon and will be the loser of the PKD team. The money raised will go to research and finding treatments for Polycystic Kidney Disease.

Factoids you didn't know...PKD is one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases, affecting more people than Down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, hemophilia, and sickle cell anemia – combined. There is no treatment for PKD and no cure - YET. PKD equally affects men, women and children – regardless of age, race, geography or ethnic origin and does not skip a generation. So I ask for your generosity in donating something on my behalf to the PKD Foundation at my fundraising page below:

Now some funny photo's of past races to get you psyched...

Maui Jim sunglasses and the racing equivalent of a fanny pack...major fashion DON'T! Jeez Tiff...

Wow, I'm looking pretty good...little do you know that it was blistering hot in Central Park for this race and I threw up coming into the finish line. hot...

Morning of the NYC Marathon...maybe a bit nervous here booting up. And why do I look like I'm 10 yrs old again?
Sure, it's all fun and games 13 miles in...

Thank. You. God. I finished... ps-that is not my time, they start the clock when the first corral starts.

About to DIE on the great wall of china. This is round 2 on the wall at miles 22-25 and I may not look like it but I'm contemplating jumping off the side.

In shock and awe...pretty damn proud of myself for finishing this one.

Fall Inspiration...

When I saw Emerson Fry's fall collection I about died. Will. Need. Every. Piece.

Everything is so PERFECT! It's like they read my mind and created exactly what I want to wear this fall. Adore. Check it out...the fall release is Monday (9/17/12)!

MBFW '12

NY Fashion Week is in full swing and today I was invited to hit the Herve Leger show with a girlfriend. It was awesome! So FUN! The show had a hint of a dominatrix vibe happening with these fabulous thick corset-like belts (reminiscent of the Alaia ones from a few years ago that I'm still obsessed with). Maybe Max read the 50 shades trilogy?! ;) The color palette was mostly neutrals with black, nude, azure blue, and white taking the lead. I was loving all of the cut-outs (remember the paper snowflakes you used to make in art class) on the dresses and swim wear. Which speaking of...if you didn't get your Herve bandage swimsuit this year, make sure to save up for summer 2013 because they are AMAZING. happy, happy day.

Backstage at Herve Leger. I kept it casual in the heat with this Herve Leger skirt, A Wang tee, Levi's vest, Zara heels, and Celine bag.

Happy Labor Day!

I spent the long weekend in the Hamptons to close down the summer NYC style. It's bittersweet that summer is over but I'm really looking forward to this fall! Ready to get down to business with work, training, and some projects/personal goals that I've been excited to start. Not to mention amazing fall style-wahoo! Who's ready for fashion week... :)

Cheers to a fantastic and action-filled summer spending time with some of my favorite people!

ps-These photo's were not tricked out and I'm no photographer...amazing right?!
