Wintery Mix

You know those mornings where you wake up and check the weather to find out the day is filled with what they like to call "wintery mix?!!" What IS that exactly...and how does one dress for rain, snow, ice, wind, etc. Well, I decided to go oversized...I just love getting lost in a huge sweater when it's freezing out. I pulled out this warm Rag and Bone cashmere sweater and wore it with J Brand jeans, Hunter wellies, oversized button down from Rag and Bone, and Lululemon hat. Cheers to winter weather!

Karl Lagerfeld launched his new lower priced line KARL this week...and in my typical fashion I was really excited to get on Net-A-Porter to see the line. I even set my phone to alert me at 10:30AM on Wed (official launch time) so that I could get on and check out the goods. After looking at the line I was, well...a bit underwhelmed. Mr. Lagerfeld is an absolute genius when it comes to innovation and pushing the limit's of women's fashion. I was expecting to have my socks knocked off with wildly new looks and reaching for my credit card by 10:35AM. When in fact his new line looked more like someone raided his closet than something truly original...The clothes look like, well, Karl. I love Mr. Lagerfeld but I'm not ready for us to be twinies quite yet. Take a look for yourself...

Mr. Lagerfeld is known for his stiff collar and finger-less gloves...two trends he repeats in the collection.

Floral & Sequins...oohhh yeah.

You wouldn't think of floral and sequins together...but when I saw this I decided it worked, and I was going to rock it. Man Repeller style. Ooohhh yeah. Perfect for heading to Sons of Essex in the Lower East Side...which by the way I also LOVED. They have an entire section of the menu dedicated to mac and cheese and jam ghetto old-school rap. Seriously, what is better?

Zara dress, Fogal tights, Comme des Garcons boots, bracelets by John Hardy/Satya/David Yurman.

I found this neon green Alexander Wang T last weekend and needed to have it...like instantly. I will be living in it for the next few weeks. I love the color and draping in the back! Be prepared for many more versions...many more.

Cheers to the weekend! I'm so excited to eat real food you have no idea...I've been contemplating meal options all week. :)

Zara Jeans and All Saints Boots

Necklace by Dannijo and Vintage ring

Love the draping!!

Day 3...

Since everyone and their mother is doing a juice cleanse right now I decided to jump on the boat and do a 5-day all-juice cleanse from Organic Avenue. I have to admit, I was a little excited (super excited)...but at the end of day 2 I'm tired and cranky. Don't even get me started on the chlorophyll shot first thing in the AM...I am dreading todays. Bleh...I better be glowing by Friday! :)

The Adult Onesie

The adult onesie (a.k.a. jumpsuit)...it's a fashion choice that even the man repeller herself (http://www.manrepeller.com/) would deem appropriate and of course I love. Who doesn't just LOVE a one-piece...it's like a party in a box. All you have to do is throw it on and voila...instant outfit. No thinking involved...other that coordinating hair and accessories. Perrrffect for dinner out Saturday night at Saxon and Parole (followed by Silver Lining which is my new favorite place). I found this wonder at none other than Alexander Wang who I am currently obsessed with (get in line). I threw it together with a messy braid, a silver bracelet I got in Mexico a gazillion years ago, some random arm party pieces, and my Loeffler Randall boots. It was absolutely freeing out so I had to cover it all up with a giant Loro Piana puffer, cashmere scarf, and Jill Sander hat.

Happy MLK Day Folks!

Boucle and Cashmere

Heading out on a FREEZING night in NYC I pulled out this Rag and Bone cashmere sweater and threw it over my Theyskens Theory boucle skirt, black tights, and thigh-high black suede boots from Zara. Perfect for a cozy cocktail over live jazz at the Boom Boom Room and then off to dinner at Colicchio and Sons. There is something magical about listening to live jazz over-looking the city from the 18th floor of the Standard Hotel in meatpacking. Very New York in the most perfect way. Cheers!

Kale...I heart you.

I'm having a love affair with Kale right now...yeah, as in the vegetable. It all started when I stumbled upon these Kale Chips at Whole Foods almost a year ago. These freakin things are so good I can eat the whole box in one sitting, literally. Sometimes they don't even last through unpacking the groceries. Addicted! Now, Kale is creeping into everything...my fruit smoothies-Kale, my steamed veggies-Kale, my veggie burger "bun"-KALE. It's a problem. I need to find another vegetable pronto. Alright, I need to go...time for a Kale smoothie.

The Nasty Hot are the BEST ones...

Heat Wave

Saturday in NYC was amazing, it was over 50 degree's! We are having a serious heat wave. I was so excited that I had to bust out a pair of shorts...naturally. I pulled out these H&M Conscious Collection high-waisted ones and threw on a J. Crew white silk blouse, All Saints boots, Fogal tights, vintage ring, and Loro Piana cashmere scarf. This was perfect for my favorite Satrurday-I-have-no-plans activity...shopping in Soho. Naturally. ;)

Happy Monday!

Peter Pilotto

I've been super sick the last couple of days...so sick. The only thing I could bear doing (besides laying in bed) was to cruise everyone's SS'12 shows (again) to see what I might be drooling over for Spring. I was drawn to Peter Pilotto's collection...a futuristic spring fruit salad of colors, textures, and clean lines. LOVE me some Pilotto. Look at the tailoring...genius. Here are a few shot's (courtesy of elle.com) so you can feel the love.

MCQ Obsession

Welcome 2012! Happy New Years Everyone!

First I wanted to say THANK YOU for reading my blog in 2011. I'm looking forward to see what 2012 has in store! For the big night out in Aspen I wore the most amazing Alexander McQueen EVER...it's ridiculous. I love the draping, fabric, and color so much that I had been saving it for a special occasion. NYE was the perfect night to bust it out. I paired it with Costume National boots, Chanel clutch, and a Kate Spade bow ring.

I hope everyone had a great night out. Cheers to the new year folks! It's going to be an awesome one!!
