Jersey wonder

Chanel has a new fragrance coming out called Jersey...no, not as in the Jersey Shore, but like the fabric Jersey which was thought to be Coco's favorite fabric. Interesting time to be launching a luxury good with a name that brings to mind GTL and all things shore. It's okay Chanel...I'm with you on the fabric. :)

Thinking of the wonders of jersey (ah-hem...and all of its forgiving qualities) I threw on this jersey skirt from Rag and Bone and a silk Lanvin blouse. I made sure to wear my Barbara Bui rain coat (for Irene's last sprinkles) and a long lace-wrapped pearl necklace that I picked up at Target years ago. Cheers to Jersey!

Oh Irene...

I spent the weekend bunker-ed down in NYC waiting for hurricane Irene to show up...she finally did Saturday night but only for a few hours of which nothing too exciting happened.  That was good, however with the city on lock down it was eerily quiet and like nothing I've ever experienced as a Manhattanite so far. We took walks both pre and post storm and wondered where all the people went...strange. The weather was great on Saturday and the forced nothingness was a little hard to take...however I did find some great pieces for work at the ONLY store open in Soho (Aritzia). That was a fun hurricane surprise.

A very deserted Broadway St. in Soho

We decided to try some 'Little Branch-esque' cocktails for fun and this one, in honor of my friend Summer who LOVES scotch, was pretty decent! Try it with 1 shot scotch, touch of Grand Marnier, 1 muddled peach, fresh mint, 1/4 lemon squeezed, 1 tbsp Agave Syrup. Shake everything together with ice, pour, and drink. Cheers!

Let's Talk Prints

The final days of summer call for Missoni prints. :) Well, at least in my book! Soaking up my final rays of sun (with my SPF 100!) before the fall officially hits. Wearing a Missoni dress, Louis Vuitton sandals, Oakley hat, and Moscot sunglasses. I'm sad that summer is almost over but I'm so excited for fall that I'm okay with it.

Have you seen all the great things coming out for fall!? I love the contrast between light, simple, casual summer outfits and then the rich, luxe, layers of winter dressing. I can't wait for a more done-up look. Stay tuned for my pre-fall looks...

California Girl

My little sister is off to college next week so we spent the weekend together in CA for some much needed family time before she heads out. She's always been a big California Girl with a great beachy, blonde, undone vibe! Have fun this year little sis!

Coronado

Here in the sleepy town of Coronado Island, CA for the weekend. The best part of Coronado is the old time, vintage-y, glam, beach town feeling that channels the 60's. The house we are staying at was built in the 20's and has photos of the woman who owns it from when she was a young adult in the 50-60's. The style and glamor of that time in California is inspiring.

Views from my morning run...

Americano with steamed soy and ridiculous pastries at Tartine. The strawberry and vanilla scone didn't stand a chance! Yes...good morning.

Finally, At Last...

I was really excited when I found out that Barney's picked up my FAVORITE fine jewelry line Repossi. First of all...Gaia Repossi (the great granddaughter of the founder and current artistic director ) is not only perfectly Parisian chic (why are they always?!) but makes wicked cool pieces for Repossi.

The twin rings (above) are edgy and elegant in only a way that could be Repossi and the Berbere style (below) is well...just downright NYC bad-ass.

Once reserved to shopping in Place Vendome in Paris they are now available at Barney's stateside for drooling and the extremely lucky. I'll be drooling for now! ;)

Rust Cut-Out Sweater

We are in Kansas City this weekend and hosted a dinner party for some friends at the house. With the cooler weather at night I threw on this rust colored sweater from 3.1 Phillip Lim. I love the cut out in the back and I liked pairing it with the crisscross straps from a Theyskens Theory bustier underneath. The jean shorts are J Brand and I literally cut them an inch shorter right before everyone arrived! Wedges from Celine and waves in my hair are thanks to my new Sultra Bombshell curling iron. That thing is awesome...

Current Favorites...

In order from Left to Right...

Three More Inches Pre-Wash Treatment which I sleep in every few nights to keep my long hair healthy.
Eos shaving cream-it's natural and smalls awesome.
Moroccain Oil-the original. This is so light that I can use it on my thin hair (just at the tips)!
White iPhone for work...this baby makes me 30% more efficient. I swear, it's scary.
Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine-I love this in my hair when I'm doing waves. It's hard to describe but gives just enough "mess" to make it cute.
Eminence Tinted Moisturized SPF 25 in Caramel...I hate foundation so I always use a tinted moisturized with SPF. I do this one with a squirt of moisturizer. If it's the day I'll add a pump of SPF 80 to up the ante....
Sultra Bombshell curling iron....this is the best clip-less curler around! My hair does NOT do the wavy hair look very easily...this get's me pretty darn close and takes me less than 7 minutes. I wish I had discovered this earlier. If you want to do waves...buy this. I promise you'll love it. PS-Don't forget the safety glove unless you want a nasty burn, this baby get's HOT. ;)

Blossom Resto NYC

I went to a girlfriends B-Day party the other night at Blossom...it's a Vegan resto with 2 locations in NYC. It was AMAZING...I mean ridiculous. Some of the girls were skeptical of the "weird" food (hey guys, it's only vegetables and plant protein) but everyone agreed it was tasty, tasty, tasy. Too good not to share with you all. :)

BTW...guess who else was dining there next to us? None other than the gorgeous Anne Hathaway. She is seriously stunning in person. Is she all vegan? It's working for her...

I've already gotten take-out twice...obsessed.

Hamptons Love

I spent the weekend in East Hampton with some friends at the Maidstone Arms Inn. Such a cute hotel (despite hearing everything going on in the place...). The weekend was a nice escape from a crazy schedule (which is about to get crazier in the next 3 weeks) with long beach walks, great wine/dinners with friends, yoga on a rainy morning, a visit to Pollock's studio, and a picnic on the beach. I also got to sneak-in a soul cycle class since they have a studio in East Hampton now-peerrrfect!

Lazy days, filled with unexpected trips to the beach and town call for versatility. I wore this Jil Sander t-shirt dress with a La Perla bathing suit underneath, rag and bone belt, Tory Burch sandals, Hermes Lindy Bag, and a bunch of bracelets that I pile on (totally into mixing gold and silver).

Sequin La Perla bathing suit peaking through...

Happy Monday! XO-Tiff

Raw Muesli

Mmm another raw breakfast post. This one is awesome and so simple that I feel a little ridiculous actually posting a "how-to." Anyways...keeping on the raw theme you need RAW almond mylk. I make mine from this recipe and it's delicious. It will last about 4-5 days in the refrigerator. Also, if you don't exactly plan ahead for your raw mylk (like me) you don't HAVE to soak the almonds to make the mylk-just throw them in and blend. I honestly can't tell the difference.

Pour 1/4 cup raw oats into a bowl. Add 1/2 cup of your favorite fruit. This morning I had cut mango (hi summer food) so I threw that in. Also good is berries, banana/blueberry, peaches, apple, and blackberry. You can also add nut's...I don't because I use the almond mylk and that's enough for me. Then pour enough Almond Mylk to cover the oats and sprinkle some cinnamon on the top. Eat.

I didn't add Agave syrup because the Mango is super sweet but you might want to add some with some of the more sour berry fruits. Enjoy!!
